The Gathered Post
I started The Gathered Post because I wanted to make something slower.
Something you could hold in your hands, open at the kitchen table, tuck into a book, pin to a board or come across again months later.
I think a lot of us miss analog life more than we realize.
We miss photographs we can hold instead of swipe past. Recipes written on cards. Notes tucked into books. Paper maps, newspaper clippings, postcards, handwriting and mail that isn’t a bill. Things with texture and weight. Things that stay around.
So much of our lives now happens on a screen. We scroll past photographs, recipes, stories and places, and almost as quickly as we see them, they’re gone.
I wanted to make something that asked us to stay a little longer.
The Gathered Post is my way of bringing a little of that tangible world back into our lives. Each month, I collect some of the things I think are worth noticing — photographs, stories, recipes, places close to home, bits of nature, old things, useful things, curious things and the small discoveries that make an ordinary month feel like something worth remembering.
Then I put them in an envelope and send them through the mail.
My hope is that when yours arrives, it feels less like another subscription and more like hearing from someone. That you make a cup of coffee or tea, sit down for a few minutes and see what I gathered for you this month.
Maybe it sends you somewhere you haven’t been. Maybe you make the recipe. Maybe you learn something, save a photograph, notice something outside your own window or pass something along to someone else.
More than anything, I hope The Gathered Post reconnects you with the tangible things in this world — the things we can touch, make, keep, notice and share with one another.
You don’t have to keep everything.
Just gather what speaks to you.
A Little More to Gather
There is only so much that can fit inside an envelope.
So I’ve made a little more room here.
With The Gathered Post, some of the things tucked into the monthly mail can continue a little further here on the blog.
You might find more photographs from a place I wandered, the longer story behind a recipe, extra pages from my shelves and archives, trail notes, things discovered close to home, behind-the-scenes photographs, or pieces that simply needed more room than paper could give them.
Not everything will continue online. And what appears here will change from month to month.
Think of it less as a blog and more as the place where I can leave the things that wouldn’t quite fit in the envelope.
A second layer to The Gathered Post.
A little more to read, see, wander through and gather.

When will my letters start?
For orders placed before November 1, 2026, the first letter is November’s. From November 1 onward, orders placed on the 1st through the 15th start with that month’s letter; orders placed from the 16th through the end of the month start with the following month’s letter. Annual plans include 12 monthly letters starting with that first letter. Mailing begins after November 1; we’re not promising a specific delivery date.
How Premium image requests work
Send the stock-image titles you’d like in one batch per calendar month, up to 25, through the Contact page. Include the email address you used to purchase. Requests are reviewed manually, generally around the beginning and middle of the month, though timing may shift and approved images may arrive later. If a request is urgent, email mpstockart@gmail.com and I’ll do my best to help sooner; immediate delivery isn’t guaranteed. Fine art digital downloads and physical fine art prints aren’t included.
